Summers Lumber Company awarded $200.00 worth of gift certificates to members of the Stones River Woodworkers Club for correctly identifying the species of hardwood lumber. Dayton Brown was the champion by identifying the most out of 25 samples of Hardwood Lumber. The samples were cut from hardwoods that Summers Lumber sells from their warehouse near Old Hickory Blvd. and I-24. Stones River Woodworkers Club has 92 members and meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month in Murfreesboro. Contact Tom Vandervort for information about the Club at 615-893-0333. Video of the raising and unveiling of the black walnut and aluminum cross at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Franklin. The cross was raised wrapped in blankets, so you have to watch for about a minute before you see the real deal. The total length is 12'2" and the width is 6'1". I've also attached a couple of photos of the cross so you can get a closer view. The walnut boards used in the front were especially good looking.

The pictures below are of a project for the Parthenon in Nashville created by Richard Waters. Summers Lumber donated the wood and plywood. It is a replica of the building to give the vision impaired a way to touch the building to allow them to understand the architecture of the Parthenon. It will be located at the Parthenon.
